How Amelia Got Into
Harvard University
Where it started
Amelia came to AcceptU in her sophomore year as a high-achieving student at a competitive public high school in Massachusetts. She already had a strong academic record and was involved in many meaningful activities, but they were not yet fully connected in a way that gave her application a clear theme.

How we helped
At the start, Amelia did not need more activities or a busier schedule. What she needed was structure, perspective, and a clearer sense of how to bring her strongest work into alignment.
Through ongoing conversations and steady monthly guidance, she began to identify the themes that connected her interests and made her choices feel more intentional.
That clarity shaped the way she approached both academics and extracurriculars. Her research, teaching, and summer experiences added depth to her profile and helped support her long-term interest in law.
Her leadership in student government, civic work in her town, debate coaching, research, and service began to feel less like separate accomplishments and more like parts of a larger story about how she engaged with people in her school and contributed to the wider community around her.
Along the way, we helped her stay organized through a demanding junior year, build a realistic testing plan, and make thoughtful decisions about where to invest her time.
By the end, Amelia was approaching the process with much more confidence and direction, and her profile felt cohesive, mature, and genuinely reflective of who she was.
