Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA) – Located in Northern California’s Silicon Valley, Stanford now offers a “Data Science” concentration for students to pursue. With a focus on computation, students from engineering, math and applied science backgrounds can benefit from such a degree.
University of California – Berkeley (Berkeley, CA) – Also located in the Bay Area, UC Berkeley’s Department of Statistics takes an interdisciplinary approach in applying knowledge across a variety of subject areas.
Harvard University (Cambridge, MA) – Like both of the aforementioned universities, Harvard’s graduate programs often align in prestige with its undergraduate degrees. To view course offerings from the statistics department, click here.
University of Washington (Seattle, WA) – Located just north of downtown Seattle, UW’s statistics program has gained serious prestige over the last decade. For full time MS students, the program requires that you pass a “1st year MS Theory Exam” and “Applied Statistics Capstone Class.”
Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD) – The JHU engineering school offers an MA in “Applied Mathematics and Statistics” and an MS in “Engineering, Applied Mathematics and Statistics.” Student’s who wish to maintain a focus on engineering should consider the latter.
